rh9 and slackware boot

This is a general question. I have rh9 installed on a seperate harddrive. I have the grub boot installed so that i can select either rh9 or windows. Since rh9 is going out i would like to try another distro but still keep rh9 on my second harddrive. How could I install slackware on the same drive that my rh9 is on without messing anything up. I decided upon slackware because of reviews etc. unless anyone else has another suggestion.
It would be nice if my grub boot would say dos, rh9, and slackware so I could just choose one to boot to.

Thanks.

You need to rezise your RH9 partition to make room for Slack, I think RH9 comes with an easy tool to do this (remember partitions have to be unmounted before you resize them!).

Slackware and RH9 can share the same swap partition though. I've just done the same in SuSE, I resized the partition in SuSE and then left the blank space alone. I then rebooted with the Slackware CD in the drive and just followed the instructions (you might want a pen to note down what the partition numbers are for each drive so you don't get confused between all the /dev/hdaX i.e. I wrote things like /dev/hda5 = SuSE / , /dev/hda10 = Slackware /home etc.)

I don't know how to set up grub though, I've just installed Slackware alongside SuSE and managed to royally cock things up.

I have all the entries in the loader I wanted but I've somehow got it to use the same kernel for both SuSE and Slackware (/boot/vmlinux or whatever it is), but with different / partitions. Needless to say SuSE isn't happy about this! (if anyone knows how to solve it I'd be vgrateful!)
