Restrict IP address

I was wondering if there is anything that can be used apart from squid to restrict IP address coming to the server. I am using slackware to load Asterisk and ony want to allow certain Ip address that can access it. Others gets restricted. I was going to use squid but it looks very hard to understand.

Does anyone knows how to do this easily?

Thanks in advance

Squid is a proxy server for http traffic - are you sure you want that for your VOIP traffic? You'll kill the quality of any VOIP conversation if you put a cache inbetween.
I think it would be better to write a couple of iptables firewall rules that restrict the IP addresses that can talk to your Asterisk server.

I'd agree. Squid for proxy server for web browsing, iptables for all other access rules to your server.

Thats correct I totally forgot about that. I have got some doc about Iptable rules so I am figuring it out how i am going to do it.
