Request for modification of installation folders

I was wondering if it would be possible to make a small modification to the installation directory tree.

I propose now that KDE is made up of so many packages adding a folder called /kdeapps and putting amarok, calligra etc in there and leaving the /kde folder just for the kde base system.

I suppose a precedent has been set by /xfce so I guess it is OK to ask.

I don't see clearly the rationale of that proposed change.

IIUC having distinct /kde and /xfce series makes easier for people so inclined to exclude from their installation a bunch of packages they do not plan to use whilst not missing them as dependencies.

Granted there can exist users wanting to use KDE per se but no KDE apps. I imagine they are not many and in that case they could use tagfiles instead. I don't see /xfce as a precedent anyway as this series contains the DE itself as well as apps, as does the /kde series.
