since i'm anticapitalist to the bone (having a lazydiosynchrasy wit the shift key, expecially when working with console/terminal) i would rename the defaults folders uncapitalizing them > downloads, music, videos etc...)
i'm assuming just renaming them doesn't do the trick, so i guess should there is around a sort of xfce related file that creates that folders
anyone could point me in the right direction to spot that file? (i did some searches but with no luck)
Did you do it from the terminal? Have you tried through Thunar? I don't think the terminal will update that file you are talking about but Thunar might, if you have that installed. Also have you check the files that start with a dot in your home folder, probably one of them will have what you are looking for.
I think the file you're looking for is /etc/xdg/user-dirs.defaults.

i edited it as root, uncapitalizing the directories

saved it then log out completely (exit from console), but at the successive login the directories remained capitalized (i restarted the box too, to be shure)

Probably you need to run /usr/bin/xdg-user-dirs-update --force to create the directories, but before you do that, have a look at these links:

actually i was looking for any xfce related file, since i was unaware of the xdg file(s)
