Remote access for slackware


There are things I have to when im at school and I need to access my slackware file and destop or the (X)....

Any suggestions?

You can do it using vnc and team viewer softwares if your school permits.

Do both apps (vnc & team viewer) can Access slackware to slackware or windows to slackware vice versa?

If you go the VNC route, be sure to run VNC through an SSH tunnel. VNC has zero security by itself and opening it to the Internet would be a massive mistake.

I use FreeNX and I'm quite happy with it (AlienBOB's slackbuild).
There is also a windows client.

Have your got it running for 64bit?

We'll it took a few patches but I got it working on -current. Maybe I will finally get around to trying it out.

I got an error trying to run it. All I did was just download and install it with installpkg.

Than running the agent I get this error "Xlib: client uses different protocol version (11) than server (0)!".

I tried the 64bit earlier but that didn't go so well so changed to the normal one.

Anyway I can fix it?

Client OS?

In my clients I am using one windows xp and one OSX 10.5 with the latest nomachine.
