remap us to uk


Hello people

any idea how to change us to uk the console not the X

well i solved this

in the /etc/rc.d/ create the file rc.keymap

1)using the command cat > rc.keymap as root don't forget that
and write in loadkeys uk.map
3) change the permission using chmod a+rxw rc.keymap
and finally
reboot the computer, everything should work nicely

there is three places you need to change the keyboard map. slackware cli (which you did in rc.d) x, and then the window manager, if it doesn't use x (like kde)

worked nicely for my gf's be layout

I thought rc.keymap was created by default? All you would need to do is change the keymap.
