Recovery partition install

Hi, I would like to know if somebody has a good guide on how to put slackware on a recovery partition. for recovery partition I mean, to install all slackware packages into one partition and then by using bios option of reinstall OS.

Any ideas on where to start ?

I know this does not answer your question but: why do you want to do that? It's a practice which evolved around OEM systems shipping preinstalled windows OS. A boot disk is much more useful for system recovery. GNU/Linux systems are rarely so broken that you would need to completely reinstall from scratch and in such cases the install DVD would be simpler. Sorry if it doesn't answer your question but sometimes the best answer to "how do I do X?" is "don't".

I always install Slackware with a separate home partition. If I ever need to do a reload of Slackware I keep all of my stuff intact in home.

Odds are that you'd want to make a recursive copy of the /etc directory so that you don't have to remember your configuration choices.

It seems you have plenty of space in your hard drive.
What is your problem with using backup-to-a-partition/folder through clonezilla cd?

Ok, I would like to experiment a bit. So that`s why I was asking for some pointers. I know google will help, but wanted to know if maybe there is already somebody in the community who did that with Slackware. So basically is curiosity.

Yes, 500 GB is quite some space for my laptop, but wanted mainly to experiment and see if I can use that for something useful. Its not bad to not need to have an iso image in your home dir, but simply have it handy on some partition which you don`t gonna touch. I know its simpler to carry a boot disk, but i would need to make an USB stick or something similar as my laptop is without a cd/dvd drive.

That depends on what your BIOS "recovery" option actually is doing. If it scans for a specially crafted partition (OEM reserved) and then boots it, then just mount this partition, copy the contents of the Slackware DVD to it and make it bootable using SYSLINUX.
