Recompiling the kernel in Slackware 14.0 x86_64
Hi: after having installed Slackware 14.0-64 in the hard disk, I find in /usr/src/linux the kernel sources. If I happened to build these sources, without touching the .config that is there, what shall I get? A generic or a huge kernel image? Or there will be no longer a distinction between generic and huge, all depending on how I tailor the .config file?

I guess the last one. The generic and huge kernels, IMO, are just names given to distinguish what features are enabled or otherwise.

I use the generic config from /boot and tailor to suite my needs. This should get you started. http://alien.slackbook.org/dokuwiki/...kernelbuilding

Thank you both, guys and thanks for the link.
