Recommend printer Slack 10

I want to buy an inexpensive black only printer that comes with a simple setup for Slackware 10. No fiddling with LPR, CUPS, foomatic, apsfilter, gs, ps, etc. Can I get some recommendations please?

Thanks.

AFAIK, you would need to use at least one of those programs to print via slackware....

I have a Brother HL1440 that works wonders in CUPS. (I also run all printing services with CUPS in a mid-sized engineering firm -- good stuff)

Slack 10 printer

I understand your interest in a simple printer setup. It can be a real pain.

Here I have a HP930C attached to a HPJetDirect 170X, and a HP2200dn and both are connected to a 8 port switch.
This allows any computer on the network to access them.

The configuration was easy once I found some answers here at LinuxQuestions.

I would bet that any printer you get that understands PCL, can be setup in Linux. With the help of this forum.

Good Luck
