ok, so I went to specify my source directory in slackware 9 and low and behold it isn't /usr/src/linux. Where is it or, did it not install properly?

Thanks

Well, I'm not 100% certain, but it doesn't sound like you installed your Kernel-sources when you ran Setup. If you go into the K series on your installation media, you can run pkgtool to get the source into /usr/src/linux

hope this helps

Most of the ISOs you'll find today do not include the kernel source to try and keep the ISO small enough to fit on a cd.
You may need to download the kernel source package from the ftp site, then install it.
