32-bit program on 64-bit distribution. Asked and answered on your other thread about skype, though I have no idea what you were trying to do here: 'du -h df file RealPlayer11GOLD.bin'

Don't even bother with Realplayer. MPlayer plays Realmedia files better than RealPlayer does.

If you still want Realplayer, set up multilib like adamk75 said, and then install the Realplayer package from slacky.eu (I couldn't get the binary installer to work either).

The reason I used du was because in another thread someone had suggested the download is broken. So the du should show the full file size. As for the skype solution I am finding it a bit of convoluted read, so its got the long finger until I get my head around it.

MPlayer - Reduced Options

Robby's Slackware packages are excellent.
I have used MPlayer in the past on other distros, particularly PCLos which has been great. But the one install on my Slack is not as friendly. For example I cannot see an option to open URL, only see an option to a local file. the audio codecs does not include streaming smil files. I would be more than glad to ditch real player in favor of better alternatives if I could.

If I could get MPlayer to read streaming smil files I would be more than glad to use an alternative to real player. I have in the past used MPlayer on other distros but the one on slack is not the best i have come across in terms of user friendliness. I don't see any smil options in audio codecs. Nor do i see an option to open url. All i see open local files.

I have never heard that MPlayer needed an "option" to play a URL. No "option" is necessary.

Slackware's MPlayer package doesnt ship patented/proprietary codecs. You might wanna look at the SlackBuild.
