Just putting some feelers out to see what others are doing.
We're a small office (10 computers & a file server) needing a reliable backup system.
I'm thinking of running a minimal Slackware VM (most likely only the A and N series) which runs rclone (in a cron job) to back up to Google Drive (or similar). It doesn't need to be able to do anything else.
Apart from my remote BeagleBone Black (which I backup to with BorgBackup), I use rsync.net, who provide a very well-priced service with which you can use normal UNIX CLI tools. At the moment I am backing up to rsync.net with duplicity, although I think I will eventually change my scripts to use Borg instead.
The idea is to use incremental rsync over SSH backups. I found the idea in O'Reilly's "Linux Server Hacks" book, and then made some serious tweaks to adapt it to my needs.
