rc.S: # Mount usbfs if we're not using udev?

Hello!

A quick question about the title:
Why shouldn't we mount usbfs with udev?
Does this make any difference?
Because for example lsusb won't work without usbfs mounted.

TIA, for any answers or pointers.

{edit for correct info}

The note is to let you know that kernel version 2.4 does not use udev, so we have to manually load usbfs to properly see usb storage devices (like thumbdrives).

Only kernel versions 2.6+ use udev.

That's clear, but there are some progs (okay I only know one: lsusb - which i mentioned) depend on /proc/bus/usb (=usbfs), so those loose functionality without it.

Well i could just try to mount it, and stop blabbing about it

Edit: Hmm weird, something else must've been going on at that time. I still don't have it mounted, yet lsusb now shows the correct output.
