rc.mysqls start problem


/etc/rc.d/rc.mysqld start
Code:
nohup: redirecting stderr to stdout
Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql
STOPPING server from pid file /var/run/mysql/mysql.pid
091227 12:23:39  mysqld ended
Code:
mysql -u root -p
Enter password: 
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

if it's the first time you're starting it, from a root shell
Code:
mysql_install_db --user=mysql
/etc/rc.d/rc.mysqld start
(took it from the beginning of /etc/rc.d/rc.mysqld script )
then you can change the default password (none) with mysqladmin
Code:
mysqladmin password mysecretpassword
