How about raiserfs 4?

Is Anybody here using it?

How was the upgrade/installation?

Is it already stable/safe to use?

Comments please...

I think that it is still in the experimental stage.

How about using Reiser FS? It is good.

hello,

yes, raiser 3 is ok, and I can read the wikki, or better, all the documentation.

BUT what I am doing here is ask IF someone installed and is usuing it, I want to know from first hand how is it, in a practical situation.

I tried it, but lost about 5% of my space (maybe not sound like much, but it is 35GiB out of 700GiB) so currently I do not know if to go back to Raiserfs 3.6 or XFS.

I took a big step from ext2 to XFS. Seems great so far. :)

I've used ext3 for quite some time, I was afraid to make the transition to ReiserFS, but I did and it was a welcome change. I would definitely recommend it. Using it for a file server is definitely noticable when writing small or large files to the server.
