Questions while installing Slackware 9.1

im now installing slack 9.1 on another computer, and writing you this on this computer.
while installing i got this:
"You will need one or more partitions of type 'linux' prepared. It also recommended that you create a swap partition (type 'linux swap') prior to installation. "

do i need to make a swap partition by myself? or any Linux partitions by myself? and will the installation erase the windows partitions? i want to erase the windows partitions... coz i want this box for linux only.
thanks.

as root type cfdisk
delete all existing partitions
create 2 primary linux partitions a small one (twice your memory size)
and another the size of available space.
Make the smaller one type 82 (swap)write to the drive, then type setup
good luck

What type should the larger partition be?

I made the first one type 82, and wasn't sure what to make the other one, so I think I made it 83 (Linux General). I didn't seem to get any messages or errors complaining it was the wrong type.
