Question about slackbuild scrips

I guess I'll have a million post one day, but anyway this is a two part.

First, have been using "Slackbuilds.org" site to build packages and your given a option "for the version of slackware your using". Was looking around on "slackware/~alien" and in Eric's "build" section it does not list which version. I know this may be a STUPID question but does it matter or do you have to edit anything in Eric's build scrips from say version 11 to 12.
On a second question on this subject. The instructions to build your own packages from Slackbuilds.org are posted in the main forum I guess they do this to keep standard on all packages listed. In Eric's "README" file it simply says that everything is there to build the package so the only instructions that I've found are in the slackbuild itself. Now, that's not a problem but I just wanted to make sure I was doing things correctly.

Finally for the big question..

Eric's build site now has listed "checkinstall" for slackware12...
Did you fix it?
Is there any problems we need to look out for?
Things we need to check?

I know your just one man doing the work of many "Eric", So thanks you in advance if its good to go and when do you expect it listed on the official slackware site.

The SlackBuild scripts on my web site should produce correct packages for more than just Slackware 12.0.
I try to improve my scripts all the time, but by looking at the corresponding "pkg" directory you'll see for what version of Slackware I tried to write/update the script. If you see 12.0 as the most recent version I built a package for, you can be pretty sure that you can build a package for Slackware 11.0 too without the need to modify the SlackBuild script. Probably for older versions of Slackware too, but some modern software requires that your Slackware libraries are not old. Currently I do not check my scripts on anything older than Slackware 12.0 so if there are issues with any script you can email be about it.

As for the checkinstall package I uploaded - I wanted that myself so I made one. But it is still the version that has the problems that are described in the Slackware ChangeLog.txt and gnashley (another frequent poster in this forum) pointed out that you may want to use an older version of checkinstall, like the one from Slackware 11.0.

Thanks Eric,
It's nice to know how your doing things with the builds. I'm sure you stay swamped so I really appreciate your time. I thought the builds would work on 12 but I did not think to look at the pkg/ directory to see what version you last used them for. I've gotten used to the builds and at this point. I even like the better in a way, although I am not ready to write them.

For the checkinstall part, the original website http://www.asic-linux.com.mx/~izto/checkinstall/ indicate that:

"An incompatibility with the newest coreutils seems to have bitten a bunch of people, specially users of the recently released Slackware 12. A new checkinstall version will be released soon which will address this issue. In the meantime, as a workaround you can use the "--fstrans=no" command line flag when invoking checkinstall."

After many tests, i consider checkinstall works fine.
