question about rsync_slackware_patches.sh

I use rsync_slackware_patches.sh for updates.

Does this script check for gpg signatures or md5sum check for files
that are downloaded?

Thanks.

If rsync_slackware_patches.sh has the words "gpg" or "md5sum", then most likely yes. Did you try looking through the script itself?

No - you need to do that yourself. A stated in the file CHECKSUMS.md5 this may be acheived with ..

Code:

md5sum -c CHECKSUMS.md5 | less

Thanks for your response.

I tried this:
md5sum -c CHECKSUMS.md5 | less

./packages/mkinitrd-1.3.3-i486-1_slack12.2.tgz: OKile or directory
./packages/mkinitrd-1.3.3-i486-1_slack12.2.tgz.asc: OK.bz2: No such file or directory
./packages/mkinitrd-1.3.3-i486-1_slack12.2.txt: OKsuch file or directory
./packages/mozilla-firefox-3.0.6-i686-1.tgz: OKpng: No such file or directory
./packages/mozilla-firefox-3.0.6-i686-1.tgz.asc: OKNo such file or directory
./packages/mozilla-firefox-3.0.6-i686-1.txt: OK: No such file or directory
./packages/mozilla-thunderbird-2.0.0.19-i686-1.tgz: OKfile or directory
./packages/mozilla-thunderbird-2.0.0.19-i686-1.tgz.asc: OKgz: No such file or directory
./packages/mozilla-thunderbird-2.0.0.19-i686-1.txt: OK directory

Why do I get this printout at the end; It doesn't seem to make sense?

Thanks.

I guess that that is the error output, which is really all you want to see.
Try this command instead, it will filter out all the uninteresting "OK" lines:
Code:

md5sum -c CHECKSUMS.md5 2>&1 | grep -v OK
