Question about Adobe Flash
Hi all,
Slackware 13.0 here. Is there a way I can use Flash 11 on my system ? I can't install any versions released after 10.0r45. Any suggestions ? Thanks, J_Led |
Have you checked the SlackBuilds.org repository? They give you the source file and then the .SlackBuild script does everything for you. You can also just install from source and move the files into the mozilla plugin directory if you wish.

I've checked SBo and I can't find any versions after 10.0r45, for Slackware 13.0. Anyway I've always installed it from source. After "installing" the latest versions, I'm still at 10.0r45 ! I don't get any indications that there's something missing or that there's a problem.

I use Alien Bob's packages.

The version currently on on SBo is 11.1.102.55, for 13.37 http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13...player-plugin/ Quote:

mv /path/to/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib{$YourLibSuffix)/mozilla/plugins? I took that line out of Robby Workman's .SlackBuild file. |
The SBo repo for 13.0 is not maintained. Only the current version of Slackware 13.37 will have corresponding SBo repo updates.
Since a package like flash is simply a binary repack you should be able to use the script from 13.37 I believe, just don't quote me on that I haven't tested it, but you get my point. |
Oh. Right. The OP is running Slackware 13.0. I should learn to read :P.
In that case, he could also try to use the 10.0r45 SlackBuild to package the current version of Flash. A VERSION bump should be sufficient. |
