Quake 3 Mouse Problem

Hi

I am running slackware 9 and am trying to get Quake 3 to work properly.

The game works great and 3D is fine - no crashes or anything, and I'm real happy about that.

On the other hand, the mouse doesn't work. It's completely broken.

In X it's fine, I can use the mouse perfectly, but in Quake 3, I see a flickering cursor in the middle of the screen with the game's icon underneath it (which would show it is loading) with the game running behind it. I can use the arrow keys etc to navigate the menus, but the game's mouse pointer remains jammed in the top-left corner of the screen.

I am using correct drivers and the latest Quake 3 point release.

Any suggestions?

Q3 should inherit your mouse info from X. You might have your X protocol set incorrectly.

as far as i'm aware, the protocol is fine - IMPS/2 - wheel mouse works fine, it's by Microsoft.

Everything except this game works. I've even tried switching screens and alt-tabbing ... no avail.

Please help...! Anyone else with this problem?

I've never experienced such a thing, and I can't find an option in the q3 config that would be relavent.

Maybe it's time to contact ID? You did buy your copy right?

Just curious if youve installed 1.32 point release, or the 1.32b point release? The 1.32b point release fixes the mouse not working for me atleast.

Check it out.
