Qt3 in 13.37

Hi,

I think it will be better to hold on to Qt3 packages until Linux Kernel xconfig is ported to QT4. I am a kernel developer and use xconfig all the time it's hard to switch to gconfig or menuconfig.

It's not coming back. Use "make menuconfig" instead.

if you need them you can also build yourself from slackbuilds.org (but I agree with Eric that you better switch)

I still have mine also. As long as it still works, I will use xconfig. I can use menuconfig, I just don't like it. Navigation is faster in xconfig. That said, I've never used gconfig, so maybe I ought to give that a try someday.

Or, you can install qt3 from 13.1/extra/kde3-compat.

I could be mistaken here, but I believe the newer kernels support QT4 for xconfig.

Indeed you are correct, "make xconfig" on my Slackware-current laptop starts "qconfig", a Qt4 based kernel configurator. No more need of Qt3.

Older Kernels

Android Phones, Linux Phones N900 etc.. still use older kernel.
Some Way to get qt3 in 13.37 is needed.

I can't really understand what you mean, but maybe you missed the link above in my previous post.

Wait. You're a kernel developer who hacks kernels for cellphones, and you're not willing to take 5 minutes to get used to gconfig or menuconfig? Come on.
