Proliant ML330 slack install problem (ataraid?)

Greetings,

Our company has just purchased a brand new Proliant ML330. After booting from the slack CD and logging in as root, I type 'cfdisk'. BIG PROBLEM. cfdisk does not automatically bring up my hard disk . . . it brings up my cd drive. This leads me to beleive that the RAID has not been recognized. I have tried booting with several different images (ataraid.i and raid.s) to no avail.

My question: How can I boot the system so that it regocnizes the array? I have two 80 gig drives. Where will my drives appear in /dev/?

Thanks for your help everyone!

I'm no guru, but assuming that you have 2 regular IDE slots,
and then your RAID, they would be:
/dev/hdc

and
/dev/hdd

Hope this works.

you'll need to setup raid yourself...
just an example... edit to ur own stuff

make sure the two filesystems u want to RAID are set to type
fd Linux raid autodetect
with fdisk...

vi /etc/raidtab

raiddev /dev/md0
raid-level 1
nr-raid-disks 2
chunk-size 32
nr-spare-disks 0
persistent-superblock 1
device /dev/hda1
raid-disk 0
device /dev/hdc1
raid-disk 1

then run
mkraid /dev/md0

that's ur raid drive to install to...
remember to configure lilo to use raid if ur kernel is on a raid partition

ps... also copy the /etc/raidtab to ur new system /mnt/etc/raidtab at installation!
