Problems configuring "xorg.conf" with "ATI FGLRX"

Hey,

Im currently trying to setup my xorg.conf using the fglrx module...

I had some problems when I was trying to 'modprobe fglrx', but now its OK for this.

------------ HardWare -------------

Im using the 2.6.17.13 kernel with an ATI Radeon X700 256Mb.

Im on a PIII Coppermine too.

CUSL2-C MotherBoard with Intel i815EP chipset.

-------------------------------------

Ill give some outputs :

Now my problem is that when I do "fglrxinfo", I get this :

Quote:

display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Brian Paul
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa X11
OpenGL version string: 1.5 Mesa 6.4.2

But im suppose to get this :

Quote:

display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: RADEON X700 Generic
OpenGL version string: ************
When I wa on FC4, when I was doing GLXGEARS, I was getting 3500 FPS and +

Now I only have 150 FPS. :(

*Note : Framebuffer isn't enabled in my kernel.

Help will be very appreciated since its my last (well I think) step in the ATI Proprietary Driver installation.

ThanXzX

Any ideas?

You'll need to replace original XOrg OpenGL libary with ATI ones (libGL.so.1.2).
Just install libs & modules distributed in ATI fglrx package.

YES

It worked, I jsut had to use the installer instead of the RPMs converted to TGZ.

I also had to mount a /dev/shm to fix the glxgears problems.

Thanx
