Problem with the mic on slackware - mic boost on still very quiet
 

Hi guys.
I am using slackware for some time and i don't have some troubles doing it. But there is a problem with the microphone.
I have configured my sound card, the mic boost option in alsamixer is on, and still i cannot get my voice heard - basically i need to shout so the mic can detect the sound. I need to do a teamspeak, and i cannot just scream all the time.
I want to know if there is another solution for more boosting the mic?
I also want to know if the problem is software/hardware related(should i change my sound card)?

you don't say whether you've done the basic tweaks(c) which is pressing spacebar in alsamixer when you've moved to the appropriate mic setting. Without pressing space bar, no matte how high you make the setting, that mic settign will not be activated.

mic boost adds alot of noise, I disable it.
