Question problem wiht 5.1 chanel surround on slackware


i have a problem with my surround
i have 5.1 surround system but i can't make it work on slack ware
hate using windows an i really hope that someone can help me make my surround work on linux
only my front left and right ,and sub woofer work ,i have no signal on my rear left and right , and center speakers .
i thing there is a solution but it seems i can't find it
please help

Do you use ALSA? I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think you're supposed to type "alsamixer" in a terminal (read the man page on it first), then change the entries for your other speakers. Press [Esc] to exit. Then, (this part I'm sure about), type "su -" into your terminal, type in your root password, and type "alsactl store" into your console to save your settings.
