You can get a more recent copy from the latest Mesa distribution (http://mesa3d.sourceforge.net).

What graphics card? I got tuxracer running properly on any distribution with 9.1 with nvidia, but I had to crate a few sym links because of version changes in libvorbisfile.

I can't remember all of the symlinks I needed, this was one that I tried
ln -s /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.so.3.0.0 /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.so.0

When I ran tuxracer it would crash out complaining about missing libraries and I just examined what was there in usr/lib/libvorb*.* -l. There were already several symlinks because of version changes and I had to work out what I needed to add.
