problem export display in slackware 12.1

hi there,

currently I'm doing an installation of FreeBSD on my server, it's located quite a distance from my workplace..everything runs smoothly, then when I try to export the display into my own computer, the display won't appear on my screen, it keeps showing me some dots and lines characters instead of the program that I want to display on my screen

in my computer I've already did the command
Code:
$xhost +
and then on the remote computer I did this
Code:
$export DISPLAY=[my-IP-Address]:0.0
by the way currently I'm using Slackware 12.1

any suggestions? looking forward hearing from you guys

Best Regards...

Try using this instead:

Code:
xset -display <hostname>
man xset for details...

export DISPLAY

Just tried it here between two Slack12.1 boxes, and it works perfect.

However, instead of <xhost +> I use <xhost + IP of sending box>.

A great tool.
