Printer question- custom installation of Slack 12.0
Hello,
I'm currently running Slack 12.0 and have a HP Laserjet P2015 printer working properly via USB on my Slackware box ( I did a full install of Slack 12).
I have another computer that I would like to use with Slackware. However, the computer has a tiny HD (4.3 GB) and I'll need to do a custom install. Space is at a premium on this small HD, a full install won't fit.
Which drivers, libraries must_I_have to successfully run my HP printer?
I know I need cups, the hp libraries, foomatic, python. Is there anything else I need? I don't want to leave anything out that will disable my printer.
Thanks for any and all replies.
if you run cups on the target computer - that means that this comp "knows" how to deal with a printer. All you have to do is to allow cups receive task from external netwok
I eliminated non-essential programs and figured it out. The install worked out very well, I'm printing on my HP printer. I've got 354 MB left on this 4.3 GB drive:-)
