Printer only working with K- programs

Hi all,

A printer problem:

I'm using an HP3420 printer and, after correctly installing and testing it (using Slackware 9.1), it only prints from K-programs, like Kword, Kedit, Kate, etc., but not from non-native K ones, like LyX, Ghostview, OpenOffice, Abiword, Vim, and others.

For the latter, it gives me the option "lpr" as print command, and since I'm using CUPS, it obviously doesn't do. I tried to put "cups" instead of "lpr" but it's not working.

I'd appreciate any suggestions/ideas!

Hve you tried putting in "kprinter" instead of lpr? I think that's what it is...

Try lpr-cups as well. This is the right command if you're using cups.

lpr-cups as a command printed on OpenOffice, Abiword, and Ghostview. No chance with LyX, but I'll keep trying.

Update:

Strangely, LyX was able to print after I added "kprinter" to its spool command, so both lpr-cups and kprinter worked.
