Printer connected to windows PC, how can I access it on a Slackware PC?
This is my set up:
Windows PC:
Windows XP Service Pack 2
Workgroup name: HOME
Computer name family-x
The printer is shared on the network, the name for it is DeskJet812
I added myself to the Home work group, and when I type in ping family-x this is what I get:

PING family-x.home ( 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from family-x ( icmp_seq=1 ttl=48 time=6.11 ms

I went through the cups page: http://localhost:631
set it up using 'windows printer via samba'
and I think the problem comes when it asks for the uri, what do I put down?
This is what the page says for examples

I recall that I was able to get this working in Ubuntu 7.04, but when I upgraded to 7.10 they switched to a new printing thing, and I never got it to work. Ubuntu used to find the printer automatically over the network.

For the URI try:
<username> is the username on the XP PC
<password> is the password for the user on the XP PC
<workgroup> is the assigned workgroup name on the XP PC i.e. HOME
<PC_name> is the XP PC name i.e. family-x
<printername> is the printer name on the XP PC i.e. DeskJet812

I don't believe that there is a password on my XP pc, my parents use it and just type in the username.
