Pre-compiled libraries and binaries.
Hello folks!
I recently updated my business web site. I included a section devoted to Linux in general, and Slackware in specific. On this particular page, not only do I republish my article series known as The Linux Project (a review of numerous available Linux distributions with the newbie in mind), I also have placed about forty pre-compiled binaries specifically for Slackware. They are mostly libraries and sound programs, but I am planning on growing the number of programs available there. I am planning on putting up the latest and greatest version of Samba. I have compiled it, but I have yet to test it. As soon as it passes muster, I will upload it as well. If there are other programs you would like to see put up (source code must be freely available and released under GNU), drop me a line and I'll see what I can do. Anyway, if you'd like to check out my web page, just go to http://www.bear-upstairs-studio.com/home.html Hope to see you all there. Blessed be! Pappy |
Thanks pappy.

very cool, thank you!

You're all most welcome
I just hope they provide you with what you need. Still working on Samba 3.0.24 and 3.0.25pre1. They are proving to be not so easy as the rest. Oh well, I love a challange!

New file uploaded.
Howdy folks,
I just thought I'd drop by to announce that I have uploaded K-office version 1.6.2 to my Linux page. It is there as a .tar.gz archive. I did that because I also added some associated applications and libraries called for in the compilation process for K-office. It's a big archive, like 120 megs big, so you dial-up users are looking at a really long download. Samba still refuses to work properly once it is compiled. I am considering abandoning that particular project unless someone associated directly with Slackware can offer up a clue as to what command line script they used to create the samba version (3.023c) that ships with Slack 11. If you are or know this person (or persons), please let me know. Thanks! Blessed be! Pappy |
Haven't you looked at the SlackBuild script with the Slackware sources?
