ppp0 in slackware nonexistent?
 

I just did a full installation of slackware on a machine, the whole 2+ GB.

Anyway, I was using KPPP to dial out and connect, and all goes well up to a point. I can connect to my ISP, I think I authenticate, but then it tells me I have no ppp0 and dies.

Any ideas?

I would copy and paste logs here, but I can't get on the internet from slack right now.

cam you copy paste logs, on a floppy and post ?

Also, I tried knoppix, where I have a ppp0 device. Then pppd timeouts and dies.

Grr.. this modem stuff under linux is a PITA.

Oh well, I'm back home again, where a modem is irrelevent. I love cable.
