Plugging in thumb drive causes two file manager windows

On a new 13 install using xfce plugging in a usb thumb drive causes two file manager windows to open on the desktop.

Never seen this on several other 13 installs.

It isn't one of those "U3" flash drive things, that is seen by the system as a CD-ROM plus a disk drive, is it?

Actually, the problem disappeared after a reboot.
