picam on raspberry pi with slackware 14.0
has anyone managed to get the picam working on the raspberry pi running slackware 14.0

No, not tried it with Slack, yet. Got it working easily with Raspbian, since all the information out there focuses on that distro: getting an updated raspi-config with an option to enable/disable the camera.

I've just tried in raspbian which at least verifies the hardware is ok. now to see if I can find any documentation to implement it in slackware.

The manual way to enable the pi camera is to add

# optionally:
to the config.txt in /boot

gpu_mem=128 seems to be recommended as well, ymmv

I haven't tried it in Slackware version though, as I am using arch on it for now (it boots seriously fast with the *shock horror* systemd on it)
