Ok, this post is not really going to be on topic since there is nothing Slackware specific—and hence I'll have no complaints if a mod moves it. However, I felt that since I have posted primarily in this sub-forum of LQ, I might take the opportunity to give a small update here.
As many of you know I have worked at Opera for a number of years and been the team lead for our Linux product. Today is my last day as part of that team—Opera has closed down development of the desktop browser in Oslo (though it continues in Poland).
A number of you have sent me messages, questions, bug reports, etc. in the past about Opera. Sadly, I am no longer the guy to help you with those.
P.S. I currently still plan to maintain my various latest-browser scripts for Slackware—ok, so one sentence on topic.
I wish you all the best for your next job, which I hope will be rewarding. I hope as well that you're not going to be fired because of this outsourcing manoeuver. Though I've never actually used the Opera browser, thanks for providing support for its Linux version.
Best of luck in your next endeavor, ruario! Thank you so much for your tireless contributions to our community; your guidance and knowledge is greatly appreciated.
I hope you the best and that we won't loose sight of you.
Please allow me to plead my great age to provide you an unrequested advice.
Take this new situation as an occasion to explore new horizons and opportunities: it opens so many ways to fully use your skills, whether as a salaried employee, a free lance worker, a business creator, whatever!
Not to forget that for the time being the young father that you also are will be able to devote more time to his family.
Cheers,

ruario, I wish you all the best for the future. I take this opportunity to thank you for the code you wrote and write. Your latest-$BROWSER scripts inspired one of my own scripts, and you once kindly helped me out while I was working on adding some specific functionality to my own package manager.
