PCIe SSD card/drive support?
Hello All
As per title, wondering whether 14.1 supports PCIe SSD. Thinking of taking a plunge and getting the PCIe SSD instead of SATA III SSD for use as main system drive. Also, been reading that many use SSD (SATA III) as a system drive, but HDD for storage. Is it because of the prices of larger capacity SSDs or SSDs are still not very reliable? thx |

Hi,
From my perspective the price for larger SSD is still a little high. You can get a good SSD 120-250GB and a TB HDD at a price for under $300. While a TB SSD will still cost you in the $500-$600 range. Prices for consumer grade will start to fall as production increases. Reliability for newer SSD is good for consumer grade equipment. |
