Oracle on slack?

has anyone every installed a version of oracle on slackware? i'm trying to get my dev env up and running, but when i tried installing oracle 10g on my pc... it says that it requires redhat??? any way around this... maybe an older version. oracle 9i is fine for me as well.... i just don't want to download to realize that redhat is required again.

it's not an rpm installer. it's packaged with cpio.gz. and unpacking it isn't the problem. it's when i run the installer that it gives me the error that i need redhat or unitedlinux (or something like that).
