Optical drives not found on fstab

I just installed slackware and I'm trying to mount my cdrom and floppy drive as well as flash drives. Im not sure how to go about doing this, but I've tried doing mount /dev/cdrom /devcdrom0 (I have two optical drives) mount /dev/floppy but an error comes up saying they arent found on the fstab? How do I fix this?

Also, my usb has U3 on it, will that have any conflictions? I've been meaning to format it and get rid of the U3 thing but I've been too lazy.

I've read in several other posts that you can make a file to mount stuff automatically - in what program would the code need to be typed into? and what would the extension for it have to be? I'm still really new to linux :].

Need more info

open console and type ls -l /dev/hd* if the cdrom is a ide cdrom. If its sata the replace hd* with sd*.

this is what i get

brw-rw---- 1 root disk 3, 0 2007-03-30 11:40 /dev/hda
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 3, 1 2002-06-09 12:27 /dev/hda1
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 3, 2 2002-06-09 12:27 /dev/hda2
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 3, 3 2002-06-09 12:27 /dev/hda3
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 3, 4 2007-04-07 13:44 /dev/hda4
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 22, 0 2007-04-07 06:44 /dev/hdc
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 22, 64 2007-04-07 06:44 /dev/hdd

note 2 cdroms

edit fstab ( not sure what distro you are running) in /etc/fstab in slackware

too add the cdrom above hdc you would need to add

/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,owner,users,ro 0 0

but all this depends on your distro and drive types and such. Goodluck. post more info if this doesn't work.

for a starter, you could try this
find /usr/doc -name README -exec cat '{}' \;
and after that www.slackbook.org

you'll be best friends for some time with apropos/man, the usr/doc hierarchie and google.com/linux google.com/bsd

That is U3. And no, he didn't work on Linux (till now):
Code:
Because U3 is only compatible with Windows 2000 and XP,any Mac, Linux, or Windows 98/ME users
will not be able to authenticate themselves to see the partition.
(see http://www.everythingusb.com/u3.html)
