Opera and Flash Player = Gtk-CRITICAL

Hi there folks!
Im having isues with Opera and the Flashplayer 9.0.48.

Everytime i come accross a website with Flash animation, the browser freezes for a moment and after a while, everything works allright, but the part where the animation should be, is "greyed out".

When running opera in the CLI i get this errors:

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
(process:10830): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_clipboard_get_for_display: assertion `GDK_IS_DISPLAY (display)' failed
Adobe FlashPlayer: gtk_clipboard_get(GDK_SELECTION_PRIMARY); failed. Trying to call gtk_init(0,0);
opera: Plug-in 10830 is not responding. It will be closed.
opera: Define environment variable OPERA_KEEP_BLOCKED_PLUGIN to keep blocked plug-ins.

(process:10897): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: gtype.c:2242: initialization assertion failed, use IA__g_type_init() prior to this function

(process:10897): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed

(process:10897): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_clipboard_get_for_display: assertion `GDK_IS_DISPLAY (display)' failed
Adobe FlashPlayer: gtk_clipboard_get(GDK_SELECTION_PRIMARY); failed. Trying to call gtk_init(0,0);

I just installed Gnome Slacky 2.20, i asume it has to do with GLIB or GTK version they have. Firefox does not have any isues, but konqueror is also acting strange with flash embedded websites.

I tried with opera 9.5 alpha, the issue still continues.. (im loving the alpha though :) looking good :))..

Does someone have any ideas on how to solve this? Is downgrading Glib/GTK going to affect my current Gnome Slacky installation?

Thanks!

Fixed

Downgraded to glib 2.12 and gtk+2 2.10 using official Slackware packages...

Now i got to test if gnome is working like it should :$

Edit: Nope Gnome is not working ... i guess i should better stick with the 2.18 release :(

perhaps, they have solved the flash problem in 9.50b? I've got to try it tomorrow and post back my n00b thoughts :D

Flash 9 doesn't really work with the Opera 9.2.x series I'm afriad. Plus 9.0.48 has security vulnerabilities. I suggest flash 7. It works perfectly. Only problem is not every site supports it. (Youtube works thoough!)

Well, this was kind of an old thread.
I did fix my problem. You can read more about it in: http://my.opera.com/community/forums....dml?id=215515

It turned out to be a Glib/GTK+2 issue. After much searching, i found a patch that allowed me to get Flash working in opera and Konqueror.

But that was a while ago. Since I run now Slackware Current on my box, i upgraded GTK and Glib and I am having no problems at all with Flash and Opera/konqueror. It seems like this "bug" has been fixed on the new releases of GTK+2.

Weird...
at http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ it says flash player 9.0.115.0 is installed successfully, but is unable to play flash animation on some other sites
I even can view video on YouTube

Im using Flash 9.0.48 and everything is working just fine.
You could try downgrading flash
