Opera 10 Beta: 64-bit Qt4 builds for Linux now available.
 

Opera 10 Beta 1, was released about one month ago, on 3 June 2009, to be exact, and last week they posted the first 64-bit Qt4 builds for Linux.

Thanks for the post. I'm using it now, with this in my terminal:
I was really interested because Firefox now loads LinuxQuestions so slowly.

Opera has some nice features, and I saw many more cookies when it loaded
LQ than when Firefox loads it. Don't know why, but maybe I should clear
my Firefox cookies and cache and try again ... like I haven't already
done that a thousand times.

How has your experience with Opera x86_64 been, and which did you get?

Edit: My laptop is also running Slackware for x86_64, and it has
opera-9.64-2480.gcc4-shared-qt3.x86_64 and opera-10.00-b1.gcc4-shared-qt3.x86_64.tar.gz
on it. I've not used it as much as this workstation, so can't say a lot,
but must not have been too impressed with either of them. Also, it is
notable that they were running Qt3 with the qt3-3.3.8b-x86_64-opt2
package from ./extra/kde3-compat/

I ran various versions of 64 bit Opera under three different versions of Kubuntu amd_64 for well over a year and was very happy with it, but not with Kubuntu.
I made the switch back to Slackware several months ago and was about to install Slamd64 when Slackware64 was announced. At this point I'm going to wait until Slackware64 is released and read the reviews before making another switch. It might be to Slackware64 or it might be to Slamd64 depending on what is, or is not, included in Slackware64.
Having ran KDE 4.x with Kubuntu I'm not too eager to go through that again and may just stay with Slackware 12.2 or switch to Slamd64 12.2.
