OpenGL nVIDIA settings go wrong every X restart

The necessary option is Allow Flipping.
Enabling this option allows OpenGL apps make smooth drawing: e.g., when turning around in a room walls turn smoothly, without interruption.
Without it the picture is really awful.
So the problem is that this option is marked as enabled, but acts like when being disabled! I.e. I have to disable and enable it again every X restart to make the option work. Annoying.
Anyone knows how to get rid of it?

Thanks.

I've had the same problem for about 3 years. Everytime i restart X i have to re-enable Vsync.

I've never found out how to keep the settings without havint to re-enable them every restart.

I believe in the nvidia forums there is an xorg.conf switch you can use to set this on boot. I do not use this, and get great video, even when using cedega and world of warcraft. It looks better and scrolls more smoothly then when it was running under windows xp. I also seem to not be as laggy as others even when in the same areas.

Ghost_runner, I can't get you. Can you explain it further?

Thanks.

Perhaps you can add the on/off setting in your .xinitrc so it happens automaticlly. Bit of a hack, but may work for you.

I've found a problem: the settings I set up weren't loaded at X startup. So my settings were back not because I re-enabled Allow Flipping, but because I just run "nvidia-settings"!
So I added script which runs "nvidia-settings -l" at X startup (a file at ~/Desktop/Autostart for XFCE, e.g.) and now this "nvidia-settings -l" loads my configurations and all works fine.
