Old app wants /dev/dsp - dsp's busy [resolved - gstreamer backend's better than xine]
So I'm trying to use gtick, the only metronome I've found, but which hasn't been updated in a while. It wants to use /dev/dsp and that just gets me a "device or resource busy."
Why is it busy? lsof | grep dsp nets nothing. If this is the wrong file to use, I can tell it what device file to use. The question is - what? What kind of files is ALSA using these days? I've got all my OSS support modules loaded... |
I had a similar case a few days ago. For some reason /dev/dsp was busy. When I did lsof /dev/dsp, some mount showed up. I can't remember exactly what it was, and it's really strange that mount used /dev/dsp. It worked after I unmounted the trouble maker.
Anyway, I'm guessing this isn't of much help since you don't get any reply from lsof.. |
