Here's a thought to ponder... what if Slackware 14.0 is already released, but only in a state of mind, and the real version will be version 15.0?

I think I've been reading the Subgenius website too much... LMAO.

Thursday, 20th september

My bet:

September 20th - 177th anniversary of the War of the Ragamuffins - a 10 year conflict that took place at the south of Brazil in 1835, between the local people (known as gauchos, the republicans) versus the central government (imperialists).

Maybe Bob had a cosmic connection with general Bento Gonçalves, who knows

If you look at patricks post, and you unscrable his crypted message:

wi : (1st part of will)
$% : 4 and 5 = 9 (september)
21 : 21
KEI_+\= : patrick saying release day

so 21st of september will be the release day.

so whatever does the '3' stand for??
maybe 3$% = 3+4+5 = 12 (ie december) ??

and by the same token '21' might be 2+1 = 3, ie december 3rd

The 3 stands for release. It's not completely encrypted, more like scrambled and encrypted. So it says

wi3$%21KEI_+\=
will release on 9 21 2012\n

It can't be the 21st, I'm off that day. I'm predicting the 23rd, when I go back to work.

I will make an accurate forecast as soon as it will be released, I promise.

« La prévision est un art difficile, surtout quand elle porte sur l'avenir »

PS Brian, how do you say that in Oldham?

We don't say anything that profound in Oldham. Nous sommes trop peu profonde et ignorants.

This is just too awesome to disappear into the abyss of forum posts....

This needs to be the lilo boot image or used to replace the tuxes denoting the number of cores on the system. Then again most of us will only ever see it once after we do our post install/upgrade reboot
