Ok, a question for the Multi-media types. this morning, for some odd reason I did the old..tune2fs -j /dev/hdXX
so now / and /var are now ext3
No problems it all works fine, but /Linux and /Music partitions are both filled with .Ogg music files and I have mplayer configured from my users /home partition. Everything sounds great and music files all work, BUT changing / and /var to ext3 had some odd side effect........mplayer now ROCKS!! the music is more clear and louder than before. I'm using Slack 9, this box has SBlive 5.1 w/digital enabled and I have 2 boston acoustics 735 speaker systems hooked to the sound card.......and the whole setup sounds bigger, badder, and louder than ever!! Has anyone else had this same kind of Performance Improvement??
