Odd filetime issue

Logging into my Slackware 11 box with SSH @ 0800 hours and doing $touch test.file and then $ls -l shows me that the file have been created 0800.

Now logging into the exact same server from Konqueror using sftp the file creation time is shown as 0700.

Files generated by scripts run by cron is also 1 hour behind schedule.

My timezone is Europe/Copenhagen (GMT +0100).

What am I doing wrong here?

Sincerely
Thomas

Maybe there's a mismatch here (I didn't try that out myself because I'm afraid to upset my system). My timezone is Europe/Luxembourg.

1. look at the following files:
Code:
-rw-r--r--  1 root root     1098 2005-02-12 09:56 localtime
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root       37 2006-10-14 20:42 localtime-copied-from -> /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Luxembourg
2. then, in KDE control center, look "Regional & Accessibility / Country Region and Language". Behind "Country or Region", mine says "Luxembourg".

Do these 2 also match on your machine?

No, they don't match. Mine just says "Denmark" in KDE Control Center. It should probably read Europe/Copenhagen?

Also, how do you "look" at those files? On my system they are binary, or at least they look very binary. hehe
