NVIDIA Riva TNT2/ Pro
I installed the *fixed* drivers for kernel 2.6.x and I am experiencing speed problems. I get 287.000 FPS at its best and I have seem people getting up to 600 FPS with this card. Does anyone here knows why? I tried the latest driver but it's worse in speed. Please help. TuxRacer looks crappy :(

How does look your AGP driver ? is it NvAGP ? If yes you should try agpart module with AGP driver for your AGP shipset instead

I can help with the missing SOC error when you start X.
I run the 2.4.26 kernel. It looks like this new version of X needs ipv6 to be running. So, to eliminate that 'nag' error (X still ran without ipv6 but I was only testing from the local consol, no telnet in), I had to add: /sbin/modprobe ipv6 to the rc.modules file to get it to load at boot. If you're running the 2.6.x kernel you may not have to add it (I believe the ipv6 module may be compiled into it, but ... ? ). Speed, can't help with yet... just installed slack 10 today and still checking things.. Rob |
I am using the NvAGP "2" option in my config file. I compiled agpgart in the kernel so there is no module for it.
This is my lsmod: bash-2.05b# lsmod Module Size Used by nvidia 1705580 10 apm 15596 2 bash-2.05b# |
I upgraded to the new drivers and I still don't get the FPS expected. Should I use NvAGP "3"???
