The only problem is the "alien blue" skin tones when watching youTube videos. This is a driver problem and it appeared to have been fixed with the previous version of the driver, but has returned with version 310.19.
You need to make sure you are running the newest libvdpau for flash hardware acceleration. I'm running the mangled nvidia-310-19 and libvdpau-0.5 from SBo (soon to be approved I hope) and the issue is gone here (GT430). The libvdpau precompiled in the nvidia installed script may be problematic. As that part is F/OSS you can compile your own.
Edit: libvdpau-0.5 has the workaround for firefox.
chrome is fine but if you want to run unbranded and less tracked, chromium does not have flash.

Interesting info. Why is 302.xx safer than 304.xx ? Is there some sort of long-term security/bug fixes support?
Beats me. I always wonder when a higher version goes "legacy." Short lived branch I think is experimental and not as many fixes. The long lived branch is preferred I think for fixes, etc.
that annoying blue tint to flash videos takes the cake, it made me remove the nvidia blob, and go back to nouveau
You can reach the same effect by right-clicking on the video, selecting "Settings" and unchecking "Enable Hardware Acceleration". Adobe Flash 11.2 doesn't support this on Nouveau at all, so you get the same result.

already tried that, the little flash player options thing was unresponsive to both mouse and keyboard, i am just going to stick with nouveau until this PC goes to the junk yard

My recommendation is to use the bug-fixed Flash Player 11.5 bundled with Google Chrome. It also works better with the AMD and Intel drivers.
Tried the work around and it does work with Opera.
I would rather not use Google Chrome for the same reason I would rather not use anything from mickeysoft, i.e., their questionable, at best, business practices.
Seems rather odd that Adobe will make and maintain a flashplayer that they call the pepperflash (or is it flashpepper?) player for Chrome that runs in Linux, but have abandon the rest of the Linux community, does it not? Wonder how much google paid...... er.... that is, what sort of "incentive" did google give adobe... hmmmmm?
the sooner the flash plugin is obsoleted and abandoned the better, places like YouTube should get rid of all their flash files and just do an open source solution so browsers like Firefox & Seamonkey, Google-chrome & chromium, Opera, Midora, Aurora, etc... can all build their own plugins to run video, and another good side effect of this is all that flash animated advertizing will no longer be functional

Might be, but that is not the impression I received from reading the user "agreement" one has to approve when installing google chrome.
