The Knoppix 3.4 Live CD comes with a program called Captive-NTFS. This can write to NTFS partitions in Linux; it uses certain NTFS files from Windows to do this by either scanning your Windows partition and/or downloading them from the SP1 package.
**Disclaimer** This is not a fully supported function of Linux and it
does have bugs. My Master Boot Record fizzled on me, so I used this to copy files from the bad drive to the good drive (both NTFS) - the small files made it, but a larger (40+ MB) .exe file corrupted.
I'm a a super-
when it comes to Linux, but I wouldn't recommend this unless it's absolutely necessary.
