nouveau trouble on nvidia 7025
 

Hello! When i starting X with nouveau driver, X working, but there are nothing to see... Ripple on full screen...
with nv driver X working OK.

running slackware 13.37 current

Nouveau is not anywhere near "done" and support is not explicitly stated for Geforce 7025/nforce 630a). Also, embedded chipset GPUs may have nonstandard implementations. nv is a very simple and very different driver; just because it works that does not mean that nouveau will work.

Did you set an xorg.conf, upgrade from 13.1, or do a full install?

Either create a nouveau-kms.conf file in /etc/modprobe.d with the following text.

options nouveau noaccel=1

or use the 2.6.38 kernel should fix the problem

Nouveau doesn't work with my Geforce 7050PV either. Installing Nvidia official drivers is easy and solved all my video driver issues.
