no sound ML 3109

i have a gateway ml 3109 with slackware 12.0 installed and i have no sound. i am a newbie can i get some help? and here are some particulars


SigmaTel HD audio
as well as a celeron m processor 520

thanks for any and all help.

no success
i did the alsaconf and the alsamixer it shows "oo" no sound it says it configured my sound card but to no avail. maybe i can try something else. i only posted here this time.

Can you post the output of '/sbin/lspci' and 'lsmod'.
